New Start is Nikisha’s first official step into the world of Singer Songwriters outside of the Caribbean genres.

Nikisha Reyes is UK Singer best known for her haunting, soulful vocals on a track titled “So Cold” written by Ben Cocks of Atmosphere music. The song is published by Universal Music Publishing, and has been used in various mainstream programs, around the world, including “The Good wives” Tv series, and Australian movie “The Griffin.”

Nikisha’s sound is commercially soulful, and she joins a select group of Artist that can fit into multiple genres almost effortlessly.

Her background being of Caribbean heritage, Nikisha spent five years contributing to Caribbean Carnival culture in the United Kingdom by fusing modern contemporary music with Calypso music, to appeal to the UK audiences.

The UK Carnival Queen has opened for Major Caribbean Artists such as Machel Montano, Bunji Galin and Faye Ann Lyons, and has toured Manchester, Leicester, Leeds, Luton, Nottingham, Derby, Bristol, and London.

Within those years of hard work, and determination, she has won coveted titles, honoured by the Association of British Calypsonians. She was also, awarded by the High Commission of Trinidad and Tobago for her contribution to the Calypso art-form.

Nikisha’s quest for wider audience appeal and chances of International success as a music artist, has lead her in a new direction.
Constantly compared to the likes of Alicia Keyes, Adele, Tracey Chapman , Beyonce and Leona Lewis, Nikisha has often been sought out as a session singer by writers signed to various publishing companies, including Universal Publishing, Warner Bros, and Rollover Music to record demos.

As a professional singer, she also worked as a Motown Guest Entertainer, on board some of the world’s Greatest Cruise lines including Norwegian, Oceana, and Royal Caribbean.

The Music
Nikisha’s strength is the authentic soulfulness of her natural ability to sing. With her focus now on writing and performing good music, she aims to writes songs that may heal and inspire broken and discouraged people. Songs about real life situations, the good the bad and the ugly, and perhaps how to embrace each of these phases.

While she is talented at entertaining large audiences and putting on a good show, Nikisha’s long term goal is to spread love and kindness to the world, creating music that will continue to inspire and motivate generations to come.
